Bionic Commando “goes commando”
When I read about this revival of a classic NES title I was so excited! Finally the day arrived when the demo was released on the old Xbox Live. Downloaded with high hopes that this could be a great game with a cool swing mechanic. I noticed that the demo had only a “multiplayer” option, which I thought strange because when I read the articles and saw the screen shots it didn’t scream MULTIPLAYER to me. So I jump in the game and are up against a few other players. BC has started me without a tutorial in the heat of battle. So here is a summary of the events that occurred.
[ENTER GAME] “Huh… that’s weird there’s no tutorial. Ok so I look with the right toggle and swing this trigger and [DEAD]. Oh wow this is intense [SPAWN]. Cool so I swing with this [DEAD]. Darn I don’t really know [SPAWN] how to swing or what’s shoot [DEAD] [SPAWN]. Why would you start me without a [DEAD] [SPAWN]. Come on I never played this [DEAD] [SPAWN]. How do I aim my swing [DEAD] [SPAWN] [DEAD] [SPAWN] [DEAD] [DEAD] [DEAD] AHHHHHHH!!!!!
[DEMO DELETED]
In a First Person Shooter title I can understand a multiplayer only demo. I can also deal with no tutorial in a FPS game because the mechanics are pretty easy to pick up and universal. What you DO NOT do is release a game demo with a “swing mechanic” gimmick that must be learned with trial and error with no tutorial! Capcom basically set us up on a blind date with Bionic Commando and we soon realized why they said the Demo had “A great personality”.

Looks like the NJ Turnpike to me. Wonder if that arm comes equipped with an EZ Pass.
